Tattoos and a Bounce House

My sister and I have been talking about getting sister tattoos for a while, and on the recent trip home to South Florida, Eric was able to do it! This was my sister's first tattoo, and I knew she was nervous, so I made sure to get her a smoothie (which is the equivalent of a pediatrician lollipop). Yes, Eric got one too, homeboy loves Jamba Juice.

We were in South Florida for the weekend for my parent's 30th Wedding Anniversary party that my siblings and I have planned for the past 4 months. A full pictorial update will come once the photographer delivers. My sister set up a mani/pedi time for my Mom since she's never had EITHER.

My sister and I usually do our own nails, so we just got pedicures. It was my first pedi and it was so nice and now I'm a believer! SHOUT OUT TO MING AT VENETIAN SPA!

I had to trek to Pembroke Pines to pick up the cake for the party. Mona has been reading the Hunger Games and decided I'm Prim, and that I needed a braid in my hair while I drive.

After the party I was able to meet up with my ladies! Elena and I went on a lunch date to El Jefe Luchador.

Whatever is smothered on that corn is sent from heaven. I want to rub it on my face.

Then Lola drove us to the park.

I love this black bitch!

When we were at the park, we found a bounce house!!!!! Totally unoccupied, no kids anywhere, nobody nearby.

After I saw this picture I realized how weirdly long my hair was.

Kiersten sent me the funniest video of Hank and Desi howling, and it made me miss those puppies so much! Eric usually gets Hank to howl, but then Kiersten tried it, I chimed in, and then the puppies were at it.

ohh lil buuudddyyyyyyyyyyy

aw shiiiitttt LEMON MONTH AT SWEET TOMATO!!!

Mona jokingly posted this picture of Lady Gaga on my fb wall saying she would do this to me. I laughed, and then the next night she actually did it. I look like an anime character. By the way I'm texting Caitlin Turpel in that picture for an emergency hair cut the next day.

Caitlin rules so hard!! SHE IS A SWEET HAIR MAGICIAN ANGEL BABY. GET YOUR HAIR CUT BY HER! She usually just trims it, but I told her long angles and go to town..and she did. Thanks girl!

<3

Fallon and I were deciding on where to go to lunch and for some reason it immediately hit me, ZINGER MOUNTAIN MELT AT ALE HOUSE GO GO GO GO. Ughhhh it's been so long since I've had this. So many college nights/after show dinners spent at Ale House!

Fallon recently got engaged, and her fiance always gets the Zinger Mountain Melt too. I like him already.

Dexter Bobble Head Dolls + Alcatraz

I found these gems in a Chinatown giftshop.

Sgt. Doakes IS MY FAVORITE - the way he said "fuck you" always had me rolling laughing

Polar Bear Club played at Slim's! All my friends are living saints, ya heard

An empty cable car train? UNHEARD OF

The chillest filipino grandpa driver turned around and said "You have your own personal limo" and I laughed and said "and you're my chauffeur!" -- he got a kick out of that. He looks like Ari's grandpapi <3

puppy what you doing in the cake??

My sister and I exercised our American right to visit an old prison recreationally and enjoyed Alcatraz island.

Look how close San Francisco is! The inmates couldn't swim that???? JK there were sharks in the water, let's get real.

Al Capone was sentenced to Alcatraz for income tax evasion (not murder or anything).

This was the library, and certainly one of the only times you will find me in one. Alcatraz has a self-guided audio tour included with your ticket, which is pretty comprehensive and really awesome. I haven't worn headphones like that IN A MINUTE THO.

The prisoners had little peep windows to see outside.

Those little white specs are really fat seagulls, the extent of wildlife at this National Park.

Someone told me "When you go to Alcatraz, check out the garden the inmates kept" - what a green thumb!

The Creators Project & John Cardiel x Chrome Travel Collection

March has been the best month for me since I moved to SF. I got a job! and am finally a contributing member of society again, it feels great.

I won a twitter contest for the sold out Intel + Vice Creators Project event at Fort Mason. The tech art was really interesting (pictures below courtesy of Bryan Derballa bryanderballa.com) but the main reason I went was to see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs! The YYYs haven't performed in years so I was stoked to see them! especially for free! Karen O is crazy (awesome)!

John Cardiel teamed up with Chrome Messenger Bags for a 3 bag travel series. The launch party was last night at the Chrome flagship store. There was free beer, free tacos, and a charity raffle. John is a huge reggae fan, so the DJ kept everyone on the dance floor to good jams! If you haven't seen it already, check the Epicly Later'd: John Cardiel documentary on Netflix. IT'S GOOD. John is the epitome of CHILL DUDE.

PBR sponsored the night, and this Chrome coozy is so thick and durable. Built to last, like Chrome bags, I GET IT!

This video made me laugh out loud because it's genius. Bag #2 of 3 part travel system!

Hopefully Janine will be moving to this coast soon!

Finally a picture with Michele! 3 south florida girls on the west coast.

Janine in San Francisco!

Janine stopped in San Francisco on her way to visit Portlandia. Conveniently she was here on the 1st Tuesday of the month, aka free admission day to the SFMOMA! - btw I updated Teenage Angst page (who cares)

I found Waldo!

Art in real time of us in time of time?

THE MRS.DOUBTFIRE HOUSE! WHO CARES..

"I'm at 2640 Steiner Street."

"Steiner. Oh, how lovely."

I've been jonesing for a bento box and when we decided on Japantown for lunch, I KNEW I'D GET ONE. Kushi Tsuru is a cute little spot. I don't like tuna sashimi, so they gave me double fried fish, arigato homies.

Purikura all day. Janine wanted to get the anime eyes.

Ceremony released their new record Zoo and performed at Amoeba SF. I love this candid picture that I found on tumblr (thanks takeabreathfromthesun).

The first song they played was from the new cd, so the front area was tame. As soon as they played an old song, the front turned into a pit with dudes stage diving and going ape shit. I saw someone smash a cd onto his own face and the guy next to him mouthing WTF??? Someone jumped over a cd rack, knocked cds and face planted. I hope Amoeba still lets hardcore/punk bands play in-store performances. Otherwise, this is why we can't have nice things.

CEREMONY RULES. THANKS AMOEBA!

Janine's Portland visiting partner Ari flew in.

arf ! arf ! arf ! arf ! arf !

chillin with the pier 39 sea lions

I stay on my blackberry tip until it BREAKS. I have been looking for a hello kitty or ANY cute case for bb for soooo longggg and finally the Sanrio in Japantown had a Hello Kitty blackberry case! The angels rejoice!

Sutro Baths and THE BEAN

When they handed us the pen to sign the check, I almost couldn't believe it. Is the pen stealing this serious?

I LOVE THE BEAN

My sister, Garrett's popcorn, The Bean and a wedding. So much happiness in 1 picture.

Angels & Kings Chicago is a part of the Hard Rock Chicago Hotel. That's a pretty sweet gig for Pete Wentz, actually genius.
